Literary
history may have been made recently when the Books-A-Million
bookstore chain bought 350 autographed books—not to sell, but to
give away to members of their staff.
"They
had invited Donna Genett, the author of
If You Want It Done
Right, You Don’t Have to Do It Yourself!, to speak at their
annual company-wide seminar in Birmingham this September," said
Brigitte Phillips marketing director at Quill Driver Books, the
book’s publisher. "They felt that each of their managers would
benefit from owning and reading a copy of the book. I haven’t heard
of something like this before, but we certainly didn’t offer any
resistance."
If You
Want It Done Right, You Don’t Have to Do It Yourself!: The Power of
Effective Delegation by Donna M. Genett, Ph.D., is a new
business management allegory that uses a short story about
"identical cousins" to present Genett’s six-step program for
effective delegation.
Already
praised by industry leaders in this country such as Donald O.
Clifton chairman of Gallup International Research and Patricia Crull,
chief learning officer of Toys ‘R’ Us, Genett’s quick-to-read
allegory will soon be influencing business practices
internationally; foreign rights have been sold to Random House
Kodansha for Japan and to Beijing’s Citic Publishing House for the
People’s Republic of China.
Promising to reintroduce energy and passion into one’s job,
If
You Want It Done Right You Don’t Have to Do It Yourself!: The Power
of Effective Delegation is available at bookstores, online
bookstores, or from the publisher at 1-800-497-4909 or
